What is the BDE course and is it MTO approved?
Beginner Driver Education (BDE) is the Ministry of Transportation approved 40-hour driver training program for new drivers in Ontario. It combines 20 hours of classroom instruction, 10 hours of flexible home-link study and 10 hours of in-car lessons with a licensed instructor. Our course is MTO approved.
How does BDE help me get my G2 sooner?
With a G1 licence you normally wait 12 months before taking the G2 road test. Completing an MTO-approved BDE course reduces that wait to 8 months.
Will I save money on car insurance?
Most Ontario insurers offer a discount to new drivers who hold an MTO driver training certificate. Ask your insurer for the exact amount. Your certificate is recorded on your driver history once you complete the course.
Do I need a G1 licence before I start?
You need a valid Ontario G1 licence before your in-car lessons begin. You can start the online classroom portion right away and complete your G1 knowledge test in the meantime.
Do you pick me up for lessons?
Yes. Pick-up and drop-off at your home, school or workplace is included with every in-car lesson across Ottawa.
Can I use your car for my road test?
Yes. Our G2 and Full G road test packages include a 1-hour warm-up lesson right before the test and use of the school vehicle for the test itself.
Do you offer lessons in French?
Yes. Our instructors are bilingual and lessons are available in English or French.
Are payment plans available?
Yes. Flexible payment plans are available for the BDE course. Call us and we will set up a schedule that works for you.
